Elements of transmedia textual cooperation

Let's start by remembering that according to Jenkins (2008: 101) the Transmedia Storytelling are stories that are told through different media, where each one makes a contribution to the whole of the story. About Umberto Eco (1993: 116) also says a text always makes reference to another texts, where we can found a lot of them are texts that belong to the same franchise, what we can identify as canon, it means that are texts enounciated by the Brand, also the ones enounced by readers taking an autor roll, all of them share an narrative universe in common, even though also have relation with another texts out of their narrative universe. And although they are related to previous texts, this is produced from what Eco (1993: 38) refers to as intertextuality, which we will highlight as one of the greatest properties so that a transmedia narrative can be constructed, because only from it is that the reader can link one text with another. But if the reader can’t link one text with another, But if the reader can not link a text with another, for more texts that the brand has enunciated if they can not be updated by the reader simultaneously to relate them, each text will present its own development of the fabula, but there will be no transmediality between them. That is, if the reader updates for example a film without referring to the comic, it will find itself before a process of cooperation with the text, will make the cooperative movements to update it and will build a fabula to the extent that its competences and encyclopedia allow it, but there will be no transmediality in the narrative, since he has not done what Eco (1993: 167) calls intertextual walks when going from one text to another and returning with a booty, that is, greater semiotic resources to carry out the updates. So that, we can say that transmedia textual cooperation requires three essential elements: text, reader and encyclopedia. The texts are necessary since without them there would be no narrative and much less transmedia, and therefore there would be no interpretative cooperation to update them, but these are only enunciated and no matter how intertextual and broad their universe, they are in a virtual state until they are interpreted, so they require the reader to update and cooperate with each one, but not only the cooperation of the texts is enough, but it must have the necessary encyclopedia to connect them intertextually and construct the transmedia narrative. So, inspired in the Peirce sign triad, Scheme 1 proposes the elements of transmedia textual cooperation, where all of them are related, but there is none more relevant than the other, since they are part of a round-trip process in which everyone intervenes. However, they are not the only elements that appear in the construction of transmedia narratives, although they are indispensable for the phenomenon to happen.
